Tummy Tuck FAQs
How much does a Tummy Tuck cost?
The cost of a tummy tuck depends on the patient’s anatomy and what procedures will be involved to achieve the desired result (Brazilian tuck versus a full tummy tuck and whether liposuction will also need to be done).
What’s the time-frame of the procedure?
Our patients arrive at our office one hour prior to their procedure time to take preoperative medication. Typically once a patient is taken to the surgical suite, a tummy tuck procedure takes 3 hours.
What kind of anesthesia can I expect during the procedure?
Before the procedure, you will be given an oral medication to relax you. Local anesthesia will be used prior to your procedure. You will be awake during the procedure.
How do I prep myself beforehand?
There will be preoperative instructions discussed with you at the time of your consultation, and will also be given to you by the staff when you book your appointment. After giving birth, you should wait 6 months before abdominal surgery. After weight loss or gastric bypass, your weight should be stable for at least 3 months before surgery.
How many days will it take me to recover after a tummy tuck?
Typically, a patient can be back to most activities 3-5 days after a mini-tuck and 7-14 days for a full tummy tuck.
Will the Doctor give me special instructions after the tummy tuck?
Specific postoperative instructions will be provided to you by Dr. Kaplan and the staff.General instructions include wearing. a compression girdle worn around the clock for three days, then during the day for ten days.
Will Dr. Kaplan give me meds?
