So You’ve Lost the Weight. Now What!?

Losing weight the right way is never easy. It takes will power, time and a real desire to shake off those pounds. The only really healthy way to lose weight is through eating the right food and exercise – something which isn’t to all of our tastes.

But if you try for long enough, most of us come through in the end. But what if you have finally reached your target weight but you still don’t feel like you are really looking good? What if you still have a few little pockets of fat in your problem areas? Let’s face it, if you’re not feeling like you’re looking good – even if you are healthier – you are less likely to be motivated to keep exercising, keep active and eat properly.

Belt Lipectomy

A belt lipectomy can tighten up all of that excess skin and shape your body to the way that you had always dreamt of. It is perfectly suited to those who have recently lost weight and can make you look and feel like a million dollars.

A belt lipectomy is, in essence a tummy tuck and a buttock lift in one. It’s like having a droopy pair of pants that you can pull up and tighten, showing off your real figure. The area around your whole lower torso is tightened and shaped to show off that body that you have been working so hard to get.

Arm or Thigh Lift

Other areas where those who have lost weight often find that the skin gets saggy are on the arms and thighs. Dr Kaplan and Dr Yee use liposculpture to tone and tighten the skin in these areas, giving you total confidence and pride in showing off your new, healthier, dream body.

Other factors such as pregnancy, cellulite and aging can also be factors which would inspire people to have a belt lipectomy or an arm or thigh lift.

The Procedure

For a belt lipectomy, the cosmetic surgeon – such as Dr Kaplan or Dr Yee will usually start on the tummy area and them move round to the buttocks.  The procedure is undertaken using a local anaesthetic and will take between three and seven hours to finish. Usually if you are going to have an arm or thigh lift, this will be done on another day.

Whilst the procedure is safe and you will be able to walk out of the surgery on the same day, it is still a rather substantial piece of surgery and you will need to rest for between two and four weeks. You should try to keep to light exercise to keep you healthy but not put too much strain on your wounds.

Once you’ve done the hard bit of losing the weight, you deserve to be able to enjoy your new body, and this is why, for some people a belt lipectomy or arm or thigh lift can make all the difference.  So now, the only thing that is left to do is keep eating well, exercising and maintain that great new body.
