How much does the procedure cost?
The cost of laser resurfacing depends on whether the entire face is done or whether it is just under the eyes or just the cheeks. Dr. Kaplan will discuss the fee involved depending on how much of the face is treated.
How long does it take to perform the procedure?
Our patients arrive at our office one hour prior to their procedure time to take preoperative medication. Typically once a patient is taken to the laser suite, laser resurfacing takes 45 minutes.
What type of anesthesia is used?
Before the procedure, you will be given an oral medication to relax you. Local anesthesia will be used prior to your procedure. You will be awake during the procedure.
What do I have to do to prepare for the procedure?
There will be preoperative instructions discussed with you at the time of your consultation, and will also be given to you by the staff when you book your appointment.
What is the down time after laser resurfacing?
Typically 5-7 days to heal but can be presentable to be in public in 6-8 days.
What special instructions do i have to follow after the procedure?
Dr. Kaplan and the staff will provide specific postoperative instructions to you. General instructions include being able to be at home the first 5-7 days after the procedure and then patient must not be in the direct sun for 3 months.
Do I get pain medications for afterwards?
Yes. The appropriate prescriptions are given to the patient prior to the scheduled procedure. It is our goal to keep our patients as comfortable as possible.
