Mini Face-Lift / Neck Lift FAQs

What is a Mini Face Lift?

The old method of a face lift is called a deep rhytidectomy. It has a much higher complication rate, is moor like to have facial nerve injury, and leaves the typical pulled look that distorts the person’s appearance, and doesn’t look natural. The newest method, called a mini face lift, has a much lower complication rate, is safer, and leaves a more natural, undistorted appearance.

How much does the procedure cost?

The cost of the mini face-lift and neck lift can be discussed with Dr. Kaplan at the time of the consultation appointment (which is FREE). Typically, a mini face lift is $4995.

What conditions can be improved upon with a mini face lift?

  • Excess loose skin on the mid face.
  • Deep nasolabial folds (the lines running from the outer edges of the nostrils to the corners of the mouth).
  • Wrinkles on the face.
  • Laxity in the facial muscles.

What conditions can be improved upon with a neck lift?

  • Excess Fat in your neck or a double chin.
  • Turkey Wattle (Excess skin hanging down from chin).
  • Loose skin on your neck.
  • Bands of muscles that protrude.

How long does it take to perform the procedure?

What type of anesthesia is used?

Before the procedure, you will be given an oral medication to relax you. Local anesthesia will be used prior to your procedure. You will be awake during the procedure.

What do I have to do to prepare for the procedure?

There will be preoperative instructions discussed with you at the time of your consultation, and will also be given to you by the staff when you book your appointment.

What is the down time after mini face lift and neck lift?

Typically after a face lift, a patient needs one week before returning to work as long as their work is not too strenuous. After a neck lift, a patient can typically have the procedure done on a Friday and be back to work on a Monday.

What special instructions do I have to follow after the procedure?

Dr. Kaplan and the staff will provide specific postoperative instructions to you. For a face lift, general instructions include having your face bandaged when you leave, which can be removed 1-2 days after surgery on your follow-up day. For a neck lift, general instructions include wearing a garment 60 hours.

Do I get pain medications for afterwards?

Yes. The appropriate prescriptions are given to the patient prior to the scheduled procedure. It is our goal to keep our patients as comfortable as possible.
